A former cheerleading coach at Paducah Tilghman High School has pleaded guilty to evidence tampering.

Court records show David Wade entered a guilty plea Monday at a preliminary hearing. His sentencing is set for April 9.

Wade resigned his position as cheerleading coach at PTHS and as an instructional assistant at McNabb Elementary School last September, after he allegedly sent a lewd video to several cheerleaders.

Police say Wade initially tried to hide his phone, deleted the video, and asked the girls who received the message to delete it.

Wade reportedly told detectives he sent the video, but intended it for someone other than the group of students.
