Fluor Federal Services (FFS), the deactivation contractor at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Paducah Site, has been staffing up and investing in the community since transition of the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant in late October.

Fluor-Paducah recently hosted a town reception at the West Kentucky Community and Technical College. Nearly 100 community leaders came to meet with the FFS leadership. Attendees included members of area chambers of commerce, employees from local banks, and leaders from area schools.

“I was impressed with the turnout and southern hospitality that was shown to us by the Western Kentucky and Southern Illinois region” said Bob Nichols, Fluor Federal Services Paducah Director of Gaseous Diffusion Plant Facilities, Operations, and Infrastructure. “As Fluor‟s presence in Paducah continues to expand, we look forward to hosting more of these types of activities so that our leadership can build the vital relationships necessary to execute the strategy at the Department of Energy site.

With the holiday season upon us, FFS took the opportunity to give back to the community in a variety of different ways. Over the past month, Fluor has made $10,000 in charitable contributions to the following local organizations:
* McCracken County—Martha‟s Vineyard
* Ballard County—Family Focus Family Resource and Youth Service Center
* Marshall County—Caring Needline and Marcella‟s Kitchen
* Carlisle County—S.T.A.R. Family Resource Center
* Graves County—Mayfield-Graves County Need Line and Food Pantry and Operation Not 1 Missed

“We are pleased to give back to the community, especially during this holiday season of giving,” said Con Murphy, Program Manager for Fluor Federal Services. “We view our job as not only working to deactivate the gaseous diffusion plant, but also using our resources to „give back‟ and we were pleased to do just that.”
