An unoccupied house in the 3600 block of Cairo Road caught fire Tuesday afternoon. Concord Fire Chief Bob McGowan said his department responded at 2:40 pm.
He commented, "We made a quick attack on the fire and got it knocked down within about twelve minutes. Right now, we're just working on cause and origin. At this time, we have no idea what started the fire. No one was living in the house at the time, but it did have power on to the house, so we're just having a look and see if we can find what caused it," McGowan said.
The Paducah Fire Department, West McCracken Fire Department, McCracken County Sheriff's Department, and McCracken County Rescue Squad all helped at the scene. The fire caused extensive damage to the house.
