A recent escapee is back in custody, according to authorities.

McCracken County Jailer David Knight says 19-year-old Christopher B. Peevyhouse of Paducah, was taken into custody just after 1 pm Friday, after he was spotted walking along South Gum Springs Road. He was returned to the jail, and now faces an additional charge of escape 2nd degree.

Peevyhouse walked away and escaped custody Wednesday night while participating in the McCracken County Jail Welding Program at Paducah Tilghman High School.

He is serving a ten-year sentence after an April conviction on multiple counts of theft and burglary, and one count of receiving stolen property, related to an investigation into burglaries last October in Paducah and in Tennessee.
