The Empty Bowls Project will be held today despite flooding in the area of the Julian Carroll Convention Center.

As scheduled, community members from across the region will join together from 11:30 am – 2 pm to fight hunger in the annual Empty Bowls Project event to feed guests from thousands of "empty bowls" that were thrown and glazed locally.

Over 20 local restaraunt vendors are participating. An $18 ticket allows each person to pick out a bowl. They may visit multiple vendors to recieve food. When they are finished eating they may take the bowl home as a reminder of hunger issues in their community.

In Paducah, the bowls that are purchased each year benefit the Community Kitchen, which provides more than 70,000 meals a year in addition to other needed services for our most vulnerable populations.

The Empty Bowls Project is a registered 501(c)3 organization, so donations are tax deductible.

There may be parking issues at the convention and expo centers but a shuttle service has been set up to solve the problem. Click the link below to see more information on the shuttle.
