A two-day investigation by McCracken County Sheriff's deputies have resulted in the arrests of eight men on solicitation charges.

Operation "Losing Proposition" began on Wednesday, Sept. 26, when a female detective posted an ad on a website. Investigators say phone calls were immediately received from men allegedly looking to pay for sex.

The female detective made arrangements with a number of men, agreeing to meet at a Paducah hotel and receive money in exchange for sex acts.

The men involved were taken into custody, each charged with soliciting prostitution.

The operation is part of a broader initiative to reduce drug and sex crimes, which Sheriff Jon Hayden has indicated is a priority of his department, particularly as it often affects teen females.

The McCracken County Sheriff's department conducted a similar investigation in July of this year that resulted in fifteen prostitution-related arrests.

Those taken into custody on Friday include:

43-year-Rusty Davis of Marble Hill, Mo.

57-year-old Michael Keller of Paducah.

27-year-old John Myrick of Paducah.

28-year-old Jeremy Cornwell of Paducah.

45-year-old Michael Low of Benton, Ky.

39-year-old Alfredo Olmedo of Paducah.

62-year-old Harry Spencer of Paducah.

36-year-old Brandon Bartley of Louisville (no picture available.)
