Driver's Name Released in Clinton Road Crash

The name of a man killed Thursday afternoon in a crash on Clinton Road has been released.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said a vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a large tree head on. The vehicle then caught fire with the driver inside.

The McCracken County Coroner's Office said 48-year-old Jeffrey Caudle of Lone Oak was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:57 PM.

Further investigation with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department is ongoing.

Clinton Road was closed to traffic for about three hours after the crash.
