Dorena-Hickman Ferry to Reopen on Tuesday Morning

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reports that the Dorena-Hickman Ferry plans to reopen on Tuesday morning, March 20th.

Mississippi River floodwaters have dropped to a level which should allow the ferry to resume service. Operations were halted on February 23rd when floodwaters covered the Kentucky Landing and KY 1354, which leads to the landing, in the Hickman Harbor.

Service is planned to resume at 7:00am on Tuesday, operating on the regular summer schedule. The ferry connects KY 1354 at Hickman, Kentucky, with Missouri Route A and Route 77 near Dorena, Missouri.
