As preparations are being made for Paducah's 54th annual Dogwood Trail Celebration, the long running event has received some national recognition on a popular website.

The website Birds and Blooms included Paducah in their recent list of the "8 Must-See Flower Festivals of 2018". The website puts Paducah's event on par with Washington DC's cherry blossoms, the tulips of Holland, Michigan, South Carolina camellias, and lilacs in New York and on Mackinac Island in Michigan. (A link to the website is below.)

The lighting of the 11-mile trail in Paducah began in 1964, and is now a driving tour that encompasses downtown, the Lower Town Arts District and other residential neighborhoods. Dogwoods also share the spotlight with Japanese maples, redbuds and weeping cherry trees as well as a variety of blooming gardens.
