Deputy Jailer Charged With Sexual Abuse

A McCracken County deputy jailer has been arrested and charged with sexual abuse and harassment toward a co-worker.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office, on Wednesday. a female deputy jailer reported to jail administration that she had been sexually harassed and touched by a male co-worker. The deputy reported that this had been occurring for a short period of time but that it was ongoing. 

The allegation was brought to the attention of Jailer Tonya Ray who immediately reported it to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department requesting an investigation into the reported incidents.

Sheriff's Det. Sgt. Ryan Norman began an investigation into the allegation. The investigation substantiated the claims made and evidence was obtained that indicates that unwanted and unlawful sexual contact had been made by the male deputy jailer toward his female coworker. 

Arrest warrants were obtained Wednesday evening for 43-year-old Chad E. Campbell of Paducah. He was located and arrested at his home at about 10:20 pm. He was charged with two counts of sexual abuse 3rd degree, and harassment with physical contact. 

He was booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail but later transported to an out of county jail.
