According to the McCracken County Circuit Court Clerk, 51-year-old Boggs appeared before a judge who bound the case over to a grand jury. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 16 at 8:30 a.m. for arraignment in Circuit Court. His bond amount remained at $50,000.
Boggs had previously disappeared from the area for more than 18 months after allegations that he had stolen nearly $25,000 from the Barbecue on the River bank account. He reportedly stole the money in an effort to pay off scammers that were threatening to expose lewd photos he sent to someone that then falsely claimed to be underage.
After a long investigation and a lead, Paducah Police officers found Boggs living in a trailer park near Columbia, South Carolina. He was taken into custody by Lexington County, South Carolina authorities back on May 28.
He is charged with theft by unlawful taking over $10,000 but under $1 million.
