Dr. Amanda Wagner of Mercy OB/GYN was the first surgeon to perform a robotic surgery using the da Vinci X at Lourdes on Friday, March 16.
This advanced surgical system provides an enhanced, sharp, clear view of the surgical site. The instruments have mechanical wrists that bend and rotate to mimic the movement of the surgeon’s wrist, which provides enhanced dexterity and control. This platform features a new overhead instrument arm architecture, which allows anatomical access from virtually any position. Additionally, the table (where the patient lies) is integrated using Bluetooth technology so the table and the robot move in synchrony without having to reposition the patient. As with all da Vinci Surgical Systems, the surgeon is 100% in control of the robotic-assisted system.
