According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office, detectives began investigating 40-year-old Brannon L. Rowe of Metropolis, Illinois in early August after reports that Rowe had allegedly been using credit cards fraudulently at several McCracken County businesses, totaling around $600.
In late August, detectives learned from the Metropolis Police Department that Rowe had allegedly sold a shotgun at a business in McCracken County. Rowe is a convicted felon and cannot legally possess firearms.
On Tuesday Rowe was extradited to Kentucky from Illinois, and was arrested on a warrant for fraudulent use of a credit card.
On Thursday, detectives received information from Tennessee authorities, informing officers of Rowe's felony criminal history within the state, leading to the additional charge of a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
Rowe is being charged with fraudulent use of a credit card $500-$10,000 and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Rowe was lodged in the McCracken County Jail. The investigation is ongoing and investigators are expecting more charges.
