The Paducah Board of Commissioners approved an ordinance to adopt a balanced city budget for the fiscal year which begins July 1.

The City’s fiscal year runs from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020. The majority of the operating expenses for the City of Paducah are funded through the General Fund which is outlined to have $35,973,950 in expenditures during the upcoming fiscal year. This is a 1.8 percent increase as compared to Fiscal Year 2018-2019’s General Fund expenditures of $35,343,845.

They also approved a joint resolution supporting and upholding the partnership between the City and McCracken County in support of the City's application to the U.S. Department of Transportation for a Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) Grant, approved four municipal orders, and introduced an ordinance, which will be voted on at the July 9th meeting, to create a new department called Customer Experience. This ordinance will separate the City Clerk’s office from the General Government Department, and will rename General Government as the Administration Department.

The next scheduled meeting for the Board of Commissioners will be July 9th.
