Collision in Heavy Rainfall Injures Two People

PADUCAH - Two people were taken to local hospitals Wednesday afternoon after an accident on U.S. Highway 45..

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says the accident happened about 2:30 pm at the intersection of Highway 45 and St. John Church Road. The investigation indicated that 31-year-old Aaron Stanfill of Mayfield was northbound in the right lane when heavy rainfall began. As she slowed, a vehicle behind her, driven by 21-year-old Edwin Rodriguez, struck the back of Stanfill's vehicle. Rodriguez told deputies he didn't notice Stanfill had decreased her speed. 

Stanfill and a passenger in Rodriguez' vehicle, 22-year-old Rebecca Vaughn of Metropolis, were taken to hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
