The road was closed at about milepoint 5.7 to allow the cross drain to be replaced between Gum Springs Road and Gatewood Drive.
The McCracken County Highway Maintenance Crew had scheduled replacement of the cross drain for this week, but it deteriorated further on Friday, creating a hole in the pavement. KYTC personnel placed a metal plate over the hole and were monitoring the site until this work could be done.
The McCracken County Highway Maintenance Crew will be back at this site on Wednesday to place some riprap and completed some other finish work. The road will be open, but there may be a work zone lane restriction for part of the day to allow this additional work.
