The City of Paducah released its Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday schedule.

The annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. March to the Monument and Luncheon organized by the Paducah/McCracken County Chapter of the NAACP will be Monday. A march for the laying of the wreath at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. monument will start at approximately 10 a.m. at the Robert Cherry Civic Center.

Participants will walk east in the median of Park Avenue to the monument located on Martin Luther King Drive near North 21st Street.  The annual luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m. at the Civic Center.

In other official notes regarding city services:

City Hall located at 300 South 5th Street and the Parks & Recreation Department office at 1400 H.C. Mathis Drive will be closed Monday.

The Engineering-Public Works Department will not collect curbside recycling on Monday. Those who have their recycling containers collected on the third Monday of the month will have collection on Tuesday. 

The garbage collection schedule for the week of January 21-24 will not change.
