The City of Paducah is sharing its first floor plan of the Indoor Recreation & Aquatic Center.

The conceptual drawing shows more than half of the first floor to be comprised of the gymnasium and aquatics area. The aquatics portion has a 25-meter by 25-yard competition pool with spectator seating and a warm water, zero-entry pool that could be used for activities including physical therapy and aerobics.

There is also a wet/dry classroom that can accomodate birthday parties and pool-related educational classes. The lobby area includes open seating, locker room areas, concessions/café, child watch room, office space, a two-story climbing wall and a two-story slide.

The first floor plan also provides tenant space, a space for an organization to rent that could provide operational revenue for the facility.

Finishing touches include lots of glass to see activities throughout the building, a grand staircase and an elevator.
