The audit is required by state law, but the report is a document the City prepares voluntarily to provide additional information and transparency to the public. The report is for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2016.
The audit found that the City is compliant in its financial reporting.
Hampton said, “The results of our tests disclosed no instances of noncompliance or other matters that are required to be reported under Government Auditing Standards.”
Perkins said, “We didn’t get any written criticisms. That’s the first time in my career.”
