A two-vehicle collision Wednesday night left one person hospitalized and another facing charges.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, deputies were dispatched to the area of US Highway 45 near Krebs Station Road in reference to a vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lane at a high rate of speed. While deputies were enroute they were told the driver, later identified as 67-year-old Linda F. Garrett of Paducah, had run vehicles off the road.

Deputies were then advised Garrett had struck an oncoming vehicle, driven by 74-year-old Emma Willett of Paducah.

According to deputies, Garrett was under the influence of an intoxicating substance and was subsequently arrested. Garrett was lodged at the McCracken County Regional Jail on charges of DUI, criminal mischief, and four counts of wanton endangerment.

Willett was transported to an area hospital for treatment of her injuries.
