For the second year in a row, the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Membership and Total Resource campaign ended with a record total for membership. This year’s total pushed the overall membership of the Paducah Chamber to 1,095 members. The total of new members recruited during the four week campaign is 110. The results were announced at a Campaign Celebration held at the Commerce Center and sponsored by Swift & Staley.

“Our volunteer team really helped us these past few weeks to talk with businesses throughout the community about joining the Paducah Chamber,” said Leon Owens, Campaign Chair and Chair-elect of the Paducah Chamber Board of Directors and Chief Operating Officer for Swift & Staley. “This has been a very busy time in our community and for the Chamber with our recent trip to DC. We are thrilled to now be pushing 1,100 with our membership! We really are appreciative of our volunteers, our membership and our leadership.”

"I want to congratulate Leon and Sandra and thank the many volunteers and businesses who participated in this campaign,” said Tammy Zimmerman, Chamber Board Chair and owner of Payment Plus. “Gaining 110 new members in this short-time frame and reaching a record high of total members are significant benchmarks for the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce.  Our volunteers have really been hard at work on our behalf during this annual campaign."

The top volunteer producer for the campaign was Bradley Shoulta with Payment Plus. Shoulta also set a record for recruiting the most new members in the history of the volunteer driven campaign with personally recruiting 31 new members to join the Chamber. Second place individual producer award went to Jessica Newman with Advantage Insurance; third place was Jan Keen with Atmos Energy; fourth place was Lee Ann Morse with Baptist Health; and fifth place was Josh Morehead with The Lakes of Paducah.

The Payment Plus team, with Team Captain Bradley Shoulta, received the “traveling trophy” award for Overall Team Winner. The McMurry and Livingston team captained by Whitney Denson was the second place team and the third place team was Wastren Advantage with Brandon Hall as captain.

The Paducah Chamber was honored earlier this year as the Chamber of the Year by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. The Chamber also received that award in 2011. The Paducah Chamber is the region’s largest business advocacy organization and is the fifth largest Chamber in the state.

The Paducah Chamber has a strong partnership base with local businesses – both small and large, manufacturers, industries, local governments, education, non-profit organizations and individuals. About two-thirds of the Chamber members represent businesses with 15 employees or less.

The Paducah Chamber is a 4-Star Accredited Chamber by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and a Kentucky Certified Chamber.

Membership to the Chamber is open throughout the year. The campaign is held annually in the fall with a team of volunteers assisting the Chamber with recruiting new members. For more information about joining, contact the Chamber at 270-443-1746 or info@paducahchamber.org
