Brief Power Outage Caused by Substation Problem

Almost 3,000 people were without power in Paducah for a short time on Monday afternoon.  

According to the Paducah Power System outage map, 2,864 members were affected by the outage. Over half were in downtown Paducah, with others affected in Hendron, Mid-town, the West End, and Park Avenue and the mall area.

Andrea Underwood with Paducah Power said the outage was caused by a lightning arrester at a substation. She said power was restored about 3:30 pm.
