A Benton man was arrested Wednesday, after police say he picked up a prescription meant for a woman who had hired him to do odd jobs.

According to the Paducah Police Department’s Prescription Drug Investigator, a local pharmacy contacted police in mid-July about a woman who came in to pick up a prescription for Dilaudid, a Schedule II painkiller for her mother. Pharmacy employees told police the prescription had been picked up the day before by a man.

Police questioned the woman, who told them she suspected 32-year-old Dustin Croley, who had done some odd jobs for her mother. Police said the woman later identified the man picking up the prescription in surveillance video as Croley.

Police arrested Croley Wednesday morning and charged him with obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. He was booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
