A Benton man faces drug and other charges after a traffic stop Thursday night in McCracken County.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office says deputies identified the driver as 28-year-old Matthew Sharp, and three small children were inside the vehicle who weren't wearing seat belts or in booster seats.

During a search of the vehicle deputies found methamphetamine, heroin, suboxone pills, and syringes.

Sharp was arrested and booked into McCracken County Jail on charges of possession of meth, possession of heroin, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, booster seat and seat belt violations, and careless driving.

The children were released to a family member.
