The President of Baptist Health Paducah, William A. Brown has submitted his resignation, effective immediately.

Brown has served as president since 2013.

When contacted by West Kentucky Star, the local hospital passed along a request for information to Baptist Health System.

In a press release from the Louisville office. Baptist Health Paducah Board of Directors Chairman Diane Evans said, “We want to thank Bill Brown for his leadership and community involvement over the past four years.” 

Prior to joining Baptist Health, Brown served as chief executive officer for both VHS West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, Ill., and VHS Westlake Hospital in Melrose Park, Ill., owned and operated by Vanguard Health Systems (based in Nashville, Tenn.).

No reason was given for Brown's resignation. The press release says the hospital board is expected to announce a transition plan in the near future
