UPDATE:  The McCracken County Sheriff's Department has released more detailed information on the arrest of 22-year-old Jamir Brewington on Monday afternoon.

Deputies were called to the Country Aire Mobile Home Park on Clarks River Road Monday morning for a disturbance, where a domestic related assault had alledgedly occurred. They asked Jamir Brewington about the allegations when he suddenly fled the scene, leaving two minors in the residence. As deputies looked for him, they learned that Brewington was also wanted out of South Carolina for other felony charges.

The victim from the assault told deputies she was forced to flee when Brewington allegedly fired at least one shot in her direction. The victim and her children were reunited shortly after Brewington fled. The children were unharmed.

Deputies remained in the area throughout the day checking out possible sightings of Brewington. The Paducah Police Department also fielded calls for possible sightings. 

At approximately 1:50 pm, Paducah Police saw Brewington in the area of Ashbrook Avenue, and took him into custody without incident until Sheriff's deputies arrived.

A suspect in a local assault who was wanted on a warrant in another state has been arrested.

On Monday morning, the McCracken County Sheriff's Department asked for help locating 22-year-old Jamir Brewington. They were investigating a local assault, and also learned that he is wanted on a arrest warrant in South Carolina for assault. 

Deputies say at 9:12 am on Monday, they went to Brewington's home at Country Aire Mobile Home Park on Clarks River Road. When they arrived, deputies say Brewington fled on foot towards a nearby wooded area. 

Deputies and Paducah Police began searching for Brewington, and asked for the public's help. 

Sheriff Matt Carter said Paducah Police found Brewington and arrested him about 2 pm. He was taken to McCracken County Jail.
