A Paducah man was arrested Thursday after an investigation into a firearm transaction.
The McCracken County Sheriff's Department began investigating on Friday, August 9. Detectives learned that 38-year-old Steven Lee Davis had fraudulently attempted to purchase a gun from a licensed firearms dealer in Paducah. Davis was reportedly denied the purchase during the NCIS instant check process, due to a 2019 conviction on a domestic violence assault charge involving a firearm.
On Thursday, Davis was arrested by deputies at the McCracken County Courthouse. During an interview, Davis allegedly confessed to the attempted purchase. He was taken to McCracken County Jail on a fraudulent firearms transaction charge.
