A report of an assault Tuesday afternoon led to the arrest of a Paducah pair.

The Paducah Police Department says officers got a call shortly after 3 p.m. to a reported assault at a home in the 2000 block of Broad Street. Police said two teens told officers that 20-year-old Talik Brewington had struck them in the face after an argument over past relationships and social media posts.

Officers said they found Brewington a short time later at a home in the 100 block of Wall Street, and reportedly could smell marijuana inside. During a search, they found two stolen guns hidden under a bed and marijuana.

Officers arrested 18-year-old Akilah Askew, who lives at the home. She's charged with possession of a stolen firearm and possession of marijuana.

Brewington was charged with second-degree assault, tampering with physical evidence and receiving a stolen firearm.
