Storms that moved through the area Sunday afternoon left homes and businesses damaged and lots of people without power.

High winds brought trees and power lines down, knocking out power for thousands in western Kentucky.

There were unconfirmed tornado sightings in Marshall, McCracken, Graves and Livingston counties, where several homes and businesses suffered substantial structural damage.

In Marshall County, Moors Resort and Marina were hit hard, leaving a portion of the boat dock mangled.

In Livingston County, power lines were down and large trees were uprooted in and near Salem. Windows were blown out of a business in downtown Salem, and a mobile home was destroyed near Smithland.

In McCracken County, restaurant signs were blown down and windows blown out of a storefront on Paducah's south side.

A large tree came through a home in Ballard County. And numerous trees and large limbs were down in Hickory and Viola.

One person was possibly struck by lightning in Murray. Shawn Touney, Director of Communication at Murray State University, said a non-student suffered injuries outside White Residential Hall. The injured person was taken to Murray Calloway County Hospital for treatment.

The National Weather Service Office in Paducah says storm surveys are planned for Monday, and additional surveys are possible later in the week.
