An Almo woman was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to injecting three children with insulin.

According to the Calloway County Circuit Court clerk, 37-Year-Old Heather McCutcheon was sentenced by Judge Jamie Jameson.

The crimes were committed in April of 2018, when the Calloway County Sheriff's Department said McCutcheon chased children through the home with a syringe, and injected three of them with insulin. The children were treated at a local hospital.

On February 18, McCutcheon plead guilty to two counts of second degree assault, two counts of second degree domestic violence, and four counts of unlawful imprisonment.

McCutcheon appeared in court and received a total maximum term of 19 years in jail, and was also ordered to have her name placed on the same registry as a sex offender - not because her crimes were sexual, but because of the dangerous nature of her crimes against children, according to Judge Jameson.

The sentences ranged from one year to five years each, with some running consecutively and others running concurrently.
