More than 30 people have now come forward with criminal complaints against a local attorney accused of settling insurance claims and pocketing the money without the knowledge of his clients.

According to the search warrant affidavit, there have been a total of 34 complaints against Grant King. One of King's former secretaries who worked for him until she realized he had been charged reportedly notified investigators that King still owes her $6,000 in back pay, and reimbursement for medical bills related to an accident. The affidavit goes on to say the former employee told investigators she had seen settlement agreements for some of the alleged victims. This led investigators to file a request to search King's Paducah office.

King was arrested April 27 on two counts of theft by failure to make required disposition of property $10,000 or more, after a couple who hired King in February of 2016 contacted them. Police say King settled with Nationwide Insurance, collecting a combined $93,000 without consulting with his clients to seek their approval on the amounts being settled.

Police say more charges are possible against King. He is set to be back in court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing.
