Meanwhile, "Silver" from Palindrome Pictures and "The Devil's Boots Don't Creak" from Double Deuce shared the Audience Favorite Award.
Winners were announced Sunday evening at Maiden Alley Cinema following a screening of all the entries. The competition took place over the weekend of August 3rd through 5th. Teams had 48 hours to shoot, score and edit a seven minute movie based on the genre they had drawn. Each film had to contain the following: a character (Ernest or Evelyn Cheltenham, a college professor), a prop (grapes) and a line of dialogue ("What do you say now?").
Escapist Pictures will represent Paducah at Filmapalooza 2019, the annual gathering of 48 Hour Film Project winners from around the world. The film will compete for the Grand Prize when it's screened in Orlando, FL next March. This is the second time Escapist Pictures has won the Paducah competition. In 2013, they took home Best Picture for "Appleseed".
