It's getting to be that time of year again, and folks are gearing up for the 24th-ever Barbecue on the River in downtown Paducah.

Event organizers say more than 90,000 pounds of meat will be consumed this year at the festival, which is expected to attract more than 40,000 people. More than 75 charities will participate, to raise an estimated $500,000. 

The festivities get kicked-off on Wednesday, Sept. 26, and run through Saturday, Sept. 29. Here is a full schedule of events:


Wednesday, 9/26

Porkstock 

6 p.m. - A one-night event kicking off this year's BBQ on the river

6 p.m. - DJ A.J. Martin spins favorite party hits

"My Old Kentucky Home" - Leight July

7 p.m. - Throwing Copper


Thursday, 9/27

-Lots of tasty barbeque and fixins' available at food booths beginning at 11 a.m. each day

-Live entertainment on the main stage and the 2nd Street beer garden stage.

Main stage entertainment includes the following acts:

5 p.m. - Quilt City Hustle
6:30 p.m. - The Melungeons
7:30 p.m. - Wheel House Rousters
8:30 p.m. - Soul Dog
9:30 p.m. - Wheel House Rousters
10 p.m. - Miranda Louise


Friday, 9/28

-Lots of tasty barbeque and fixins' available at food booths beginning at 11 a.m. each day

-Live entertainment on the main stage and the 2nd Street beer garden stage.

6 p.m. - Gary Moore
6:30 p.m. - Cat Daddy O
7:30 p.m. - Gary Moore

Saturday, 9/29

-Lots of tasty barbeque and fixins' available at food booths beginning at 11 a.m. each day

-Live entertainment on the main stage and the 2nd Street beer garden stage.


Get ready for an amped up FULL-Market Saturday, located streetside, just inside 3rd Street on the 200 block of Broadway. Three nights of Farmers' Market music and entertainment from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 6-10 p.m. Saturday on the Main stage. Pumpkins, gourds and mums will also be sold from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday.


5K Run

8 a.m. - Race starts and finishes at Paducah Bank, 555 Jefferson Street. For more info, click on the link at the bottom of the page.
