A McCracken County man was arrested on Thursday evening on marijuana trafficking and gun charges after a traffic stop.
McCracken County Sheriff's detectives stopped a vehicle for traffic violations along Mallory Street in Paducah.
When the detectives approached the vehicle driven by 46-year-old Anthony Woods, they immediately noticed the smell of marijuana. That prompted a search of the vehicle which reportedly uncovered more than 700 grams of marijuana, THC gummies, a 9mm handgun, a scale, baggies, and $1,970 in cash believed to be proceeds from drug sales.
Police said Woods is a convicted felon and not legally allowed to possess a firearm. He also has previously been convicted on firearm-enhanced marijuana trafficking charges.
In this case, Woods was charged with firearm-enhanced trafficking in marijuana, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, as well as traffic violations.
