A Graves County grand jury has recommended a 50-year sentence for a man found guilty of shooting three people last year.

Twenty-seven-year old James Blakemore was sentenced Friday in connection with the incident last August 3rd in which two other males and a female were shot then assaulted by Blakemore, who struck the victims with a gun.

The driver, a male, was shot in the head, but miraculously survivied while the other male is paralyzed.

The female victim was able to flee after being shot in the arm and before being shot a second time.

Blakemore was sentenced to two counts of first degree assault, four counts of second degree assault, strangulation, convicted felon in possession of a handgun and persistent felony offender charges.
