This week is National Police Week, when our nation celebrates the contributions of law enforcement and their commitment to keeping our communities safe.

Nationally, 137 men and women from law enforcement lost their lives in 2023. They are being remembered this week across the country, and they were honored on Monday in Paducah.

Local law officers gathered Monday at the McCracken County courthouse near the peace officers memorial for the Jackson Purchase Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #15 Memorial Service.

Lodge President Tray English was the master of ceremonies and the guest speaker was McCracken County Attorney Cade Foster.
Music was provided by Kentucky Supreme Court Justice Shea Nickell, McCracken County Commissioner Richard Abraham and bagpiper James Whitworth.
