The City of Kuttawa announced this week that it is currently conducting testing to locate lead pipes in the city water system for future replacement.
Residents are reminded that they may see city workers digging around water meters to conduct the testing. Residents are urged not to go near the holes, and the city will return to fill them shortly.
Testing in Kuttawa is expected to go on through October.
The Environmental Protection Agency in 2023 proposed a ten-year goal of replacing the vast majority of remaining lead pipes in America's municipal water systems.
