Kuttawa fire department gets $2 million state renovation grant

The Kuttawa Volunteer Fire Department has been awarded a $2 million state grant to renovate and enhance their Kuttawa fire station. 

The City of Kuttawa posted on social media this week that the mayor and city council have been working over a four-year period to obtain the grant, including numerous trips to Frankfort to meet with legislators. They said the city's application was rejected twice before they were able to acquire the funding.  

The city said they will coordinate with RBS Engineering to plan the renovation.
