An Illinois man accused of breaking into a home in Graves County has been arrested in Tennessee.
A Graves County resident called the Sheriff's Office after catching a man inside his home on Wednesday afternoon. He confronted the suspect who then fled in an SUV. The homeowner got photos of the vehicle and the Illinois license plate. The suspect was gone by the time deputies arrived, but they used the photos and information to issue a warning to police agencies in the region.
Just after 4 p.m. on Thursday, Union City Police spotted the vehicle in the parking lot at Walmart. Officers staked out the vehicle waiting for the driver to come out of the store. Police approached him as he came out, and the man, identified as 40-year-old Charles T. Livvix of Toledo, Illinois, fled back into the store. He was captured after the short foot chase.
Union City Police said that Livvix was found with fentanyl and a large amount of cash.
Detectives from Graves County went to Union City Thursday, but Livvix would not answer their questions. His photo was shown to the homeowner in a photo lineup and the man told them Livvix was the individual he saw in his home.
Livvix will be charged with second-degree burglary.
