Night time work zones will continue in McCracken County this week to install a high-friction pavement coating that will help reduce wet weather accidents.

The project adds a layer of granite chips to busy intersections, bonded to the pavement by epoxy.

Intersections getting the high-friction treatment this week include:
-  tonight at the I-24 Exit 7 westbound exit ramp
-  Tuesday night on the I-24 Exit 7 eastbound exit ramp
-  Wednesday night at the Hinkleville Road / Olivet Church Road intersection
-  Thursday night at the I-24 Exit 11 eastbound ramp
-  and Friday night at the I-24 Exit 11 westbound ramp

The work will take place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says that similar work is planned in other counties around the region this summer.
