The National Weather Service says summer is giving us another one-two punch as far as extreme heat, now entering its second week.
Another heat advisory has been issued through Sunday evening. Expect peak heat index readings between 105 and 110.
Then on Monday and Tuesday, things will only get hotter. An extreme heat watch has already been put into place, with actual air temperatures in the upper 90s. That will help generate heat indices of 111 to 115.
Once again, isolated thundershowers are possible, but can provide only limited relief.
The first crack in the relentless heat is starting to show, with a forecast high next Friday of 87 degrees. The normal high for Paducah for the first few days of August is 90.
