A Graves County man currently serving a suspended prison sentence was arrested Tuesday on gun charges.
The Graves County Sheriff's Office said 52-year-old Christopher E. Wallace of Lynnville was arrested Tuesday afternoon after Probation and Parole Officers along with Graves County Sheriff's detectives searched his home, seizing hundreds of rounds of ammunition, numerous rifles, shotguns, and handguns.
Wallace cannot legally possess any firearms as he was currently serving a suspended 5-year prison sentence following a conviction in 2023 for his role in a large theft ring in Graves County. Those thefts included stolen tractors, a skid steer, semi-trailer, and various other items. Some of the items had been stolen immediately after the December 2021 tornado from storm ravaged areas in Graves County.
He was also convicted of obscuring the identity of a machine, which involved removing the manufacturers serial number and replacing it with a fictitious one.
Wallace was charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of firearms by a convicted felon. A hold has been placed on his incarceration status by the Kentucky Department of Probation and Parole pending a hearing.
