A Grand Rivers man is facing trafficking charges after getting picked up at a checkpoint in Hopkinsville on Friday.
According to WKDZ, Kentucky State Police were conducting a safety checkpoint along Eagle Way Friday night. Troopers said a motorcycle driven by 45-year-old Jason Millikan of Grand Rivers stopped just short of the checkpoint. Millikan reportedly did not have a driver's license or insurance information on him when a trooper approached him. That trooper reportedly also saw that there wasn't a key in the ignition and that the motorcycle looked like it had been hotwired. Millikan also reportedly had outstanding warrants, as well.
The report indicated that Millikan was found with marijuana and a K9 from the Hopkinsville Police Department located a bag on the side of the road nearby that had more marijuana, hallucinogenic mushrooms, scales, syringes, rolling papers, a handgun, and other items with residue from methamphetamine.
Millikan was arrested and charged with DUI, trafficking hallucinogens, trafficking marijuana, possession of meth, possession of marijuana, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, tampering with physical evidence, and traffic violations.
