A Grand Rivers man was arrested on drug charges after being involved in a traffic accident in Livingston County.

On Wednesday morning deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle injury collision on Heater Store Road.

The driver reportedly fled the scene before deputies arrived. Evidence at the scene identified the driver as 40-year-old Brandon Cannon of Grand Rivers, who was known to have outstanding arrest warrants.

Later that morning, deputies along with Kentucky State Police troopers located Cannon at a residence on Coon Chapel Road.

Cannon was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, cash, and other items consistent with drug trafficking activities.

Cannon now faces charges including leaving the scene of an accident, trafficking in a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.

He was also served with previous warrants for receiving stolen property, theft of services and absconding relating to incidents from July.

Cannon was also recently indicted by the Livingston County Grand Jury for first-degree trafficking following a search of an Iuka Road residence in August.
