A Paducah man was arrested and three juveniles charged Thursday after entering unlocked vehicles and stealing items.

Last week, Paducah Police received a large number of calls about vehicles that had been broken into throughout the community.

Officers and detectives immediately began investigating the incidents and were able to determine that a group of people working in concert with each other were responsible for the thefts.

Thursday at approximately 5:00 am, Paducah Police officers saw a vehicle leaving at a high rate of speed from an apartment complex on County Park Road that had been targeted in the past. Officers determined that the occupants had been at the apartment complex going through unlocked vehicles.

Later in the day, officers and detectives continued investigating and were able to determine that these people were involved in the previous thefts from vehicles.

The juveniles were charged and lodged in the McCracken Juvenile Detention Facility while 18 year old Xavier Hodges was arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Jail.

Since the suspects were working together to commit these crimes, all were charged with engaging in organized crime.

Hodges was also charged with unlawful transaction with a minor for his efforts in assisting the juveniles in committing crimes.

He also provided false information to officers about his identity. It was also determined that in one of the thefts, a juvenile had stolen a firearm.

Anyone with further information is asked to contact Paducah Police.
