Kentucky State Police arrested two suspects in connection with a theft and multi-county pursuit that happened on Wednesday.

KSP Post 1 received a report of a theft in Lyon County at around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Troopers stopped the suspect vehicle 15 minutes later at the 28-mile marker of Interstate 24 near Gilbertsville. One person got out of the vehicle and ran off, while the driver fled in the vehicle.

Officers from other agencies joined troopers and chased the vehicle through Marshall, McCracken and Trigg counties, as well as The Trace in Land Between the Lakes. The vehicle was found later in Colson Hollow Campground and the driver, 27-year-old Jermal Davis of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, ran away.

With the help of a K9 from Stewart County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee, Davis was found in a wooded area south of the campground.

He was charged with wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, possession of burglary tools, receiving stolen property, open-alcohol container in a motor vehicle and other traffic offenses. Davis was lodged at the Crittenden County Jail.

The second person who ran away from the vehicle, 34-year-old Jovon Moss also of Ft. Lauderdale, had escaped into the Gilbertsville area, but was apprehended sometime before 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
