Atmos Energy is days away from launching a million-dollar pipeline replacement project in Paducah.
During Atmos Energy’s 2009 rate case, the Kentucky Public Service Commission approved a program that enables Atmos to replace bare steel and other aging infrastructure in its Kentucky service area.
Beginning March 1, the utility will begin replacing over 6,700 feet of bare steel main pipe, to be replaced with high density polyethylene pipe. Also being replaced will be approximately 67 service lines from street to house.
Each homeowner will be updated as it happens.
Atmos Energy contractors will be working in the following areas:
N 36th St from Branch St to Minnich Ave.
Central Ave from W Jefferson to the RR tracks
N 34th St from Branch St to Pines Rd.
N 34th St near Jefferson St
Pines Rd. from N 36th St. to just north of the RR tracks
W. Jefferson from Pines Rd. to dead end
Minnich Ave from River Oaks Blvd. to N 36th St.
The utility will work with local officials should road closures become necessary.
The project has an anticipated date of completion in late June.
