Over 60 New Cases of COVID-19 in Area This Week

WESTERN KENTUCKY, SOUTHERN ILLINOIS - More than 60 new cases of the novel coronavirus have been reported in the area over the last week, according to local health departments.

The Graves County Health Department reported 14 new cases of the virus this week, all of whom are in isolation at home. The new cases include three children age 0-10, three individuals in their 30's, five in their 50's, one in their 60's, and two in their 70's. Graves County is currently reporting a total of 199 cases.

The Calloway County Health Department reported 12 new cases of the virus.  This brings their total to 74 cases, with 61 recoveries and 1 death.

The Purchase District Health Department confirmed 32 cases of COVID-19 this week, including 25 cases in McCracken County, 6 in Fulton County, and 1 in Hickman County. To date, McCracken County has 152 cases, with 3 deaths. Carlisle County has 5 cases with 1 death, Ballard County has 15 cases, Hickman County has 5 cases, and Fulton County has 18.

After an increase among young adults in Marshall County two weeks ago, the Marshall County Health Department reported just two new cases this week. Both of those cases were reported last Saturday and include a man in his 50's and a woman in her 60's.  Marshall County has reported a total of 55 cases, with 49 recoveries and 2 deaths. 

In Southern Illinois, the Southern Seven Health Department reported five new cases this week, including two in Alexander County, two in Pulaski County, and one in Massac County. The Southern Seven has confirmed a total of 293 cases of COVID-19. There have been 18 deaths in the Southern Seven area, all in Union County.
