Dr. John Yezerski, Orthopaedic Surgeon, has announced his retirement from Murray Orthopaedics at Murray-Calloway County Hospital set for July 31.Dr. Y

Dr. Yezerski received his undergraduate in Biology at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio. After graduating, he entered the Army where he received a Master’s in Physical Therapy from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. He spent five years active duty and nine years in the KY National Guard and Army Reserve. He served as a Physical Therapist in the Army and rose to the rank of Captain in the Medical Corps. He attended Medical School at the University of Louisville where he completed specialized training in hand surgery at the Kleinert Kutz Louisville Hand Associates.

He began his orthopaedic practice at Murray-Calloway County Hospital in 1987 and will complete 32 years of service to our community. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

He has served in many capacities over the years including chief of staff, chief of surgery, as well as a contributing member of the credentials committee, medical executive committee, and sitting on the hospital board and other committee boards and committees.  

“My family has been blessed to have so many great patients and friends here in Murray. You will be missed but not forgotten as we move into the future,” said Dr. Yezerski.

He and his wife, Martha, have three children, John Eric (Courtney) of Franklin, TN; Matthew (Erica) of Franklin, TN; Adam (Emily) of Washington DC.  Their children have blessed them with eight grandchildren as well.

In his retirement, Yezerski says he wants to travel and enjoy time with their friends and family, especially their grandchildren.  

Dr. Yezerski will officially retire on July 31st. A joint retirement celebration has been set for June 22 to recognize Dr. John Yezerski and Dr. Dewey Dean on their retirements.
