Murray-Calloway County Hospital’s Women’s Health of Murray will host a Women’s Health Fair & luncheon on Tuesday, Oct. 23 from 11 am – 1 pm in the Murray Room at the CFSB Center.
The event will feature a women’s health panel discussion beginning at noon. Speakers will be Dawn N. Deeter, OB/GYN on Breast Cancer, Kelsey Whalen, Exercise Specialist, and Rebecca Wright, MS, RD, LD on diet and nutrition.
There will be a breast cancer information table and heart health education provided by Murray Cardiology Associates.
Free wellness checks will be provided and include the following: blood pressure, oxygen saturation, pulse, osteoporosis screening and waist circumference.
Community vendors will also be set up with displays and merchandise and include:
Flowers by Whitney, Ribbon Chix, Rodan & Fields, Plantation Place and Murray Ophthalmology.
The event will include a catered Italian-themed lunch, giveaways and door prizes. All are welcome to the free event, and interested parties are asked to RSVP by calling 270-762-1381, or by emailing marketing@murrayhospital.org
While breast cancer affects people throughout the year, October has been marked as a month of heightened awareness of the disease and those it impacts, in hopes of moving closer to eventually finding a cure. In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, every patient who gets a mammogram at MCCH in October will receive a lunch box.
